Similar to L. lilacinum in its stout caudex clad with numerous petiolar remains, differing in its 3 flowering stems, smaller 1-2-flowered spikelets 2.5-3.5 mm, outer bracts distinctly keeled, subacute, and calyx shorter, 2-2.5 mm, limb broadly infundibular, deeply 5-lobed, lobes acute. Fl. 7-9. Saline places inland, c. 1525 m.
