Perennial herb with branched rhizome; stems erect or slightly ascending, 12-30 cm, eglandular-pubescent with patent straight or curved 0,2-0,8 mm hairs in two dense rows and sparsely scattered or absent between. Petiole 0-2 mm, lamina broadly ovate, 12-30 x 10-22 mm, pubescent, base truncate to rounded, margin flat, crenate-serrate with 6-10 teeth per side. Racemes 1-4, opposite or alternate, 4-10 cm, 15-30 flowered, peduncle 1-3 cm, all eglandular- or glandular-pubescent. Pedicels 3-8 mm, 0,7-1,5 x bracts. Calyx 3-6 mm, lobes 4, linear-lanceolate. Corolla blue, 8-12 mm diam. Style 3,5-4,5 mm. Capsule obcordate, flat, 3,5-4 x 4,3-4,8 mm, equalling or slightly shorter than calyx, shortly eglandular-pubescent, base cuneate, apical sinus obtuse, often shallow. Seeds c. 6-14, elliptic, flat, 1,1-1,7 x 0,8-1,5 mm, subrugulose. Fl. 4-7. Rich soil in deciduous forests, forest roadsides, macchie,.scruh, meadows, 100-2000 m.
