Glabrous, glaucous, prostrate perennial herb with numerous often simple stems arising from a woody stock. Leaves ovate to suborbicular, 2-10 x 1.5-6.5 mm; petioles 0.5-2 mm. Stipules ovate-lanceolate, 1 mm, white with a purple basal blotch. Male flowers: sepals yellow-green, 1.3 mm; petals white, 1 mm; anthers yellow. Female flowers: sepals dark green, with a narrow whitish margin, 2 mm. Fruit 3-4 mm diam. Seeds 1.5-2 mm. Fl. 3-8. Open forest, stony places, fallow fields, etc., s.l.-1800 m.
