Tuber simple, ± spherical, 9-14 x 8-12 mm. Stems erect or ascending-erect, often branched at the base, bearing 1 yellowish scale leaf. Leaves 1 x ternate, the segments broadly ovate, palmatifid into oblong to narrowly obovate laciniae, petioles not sheathing. Inflorescence lax, 4-9-flowered, bracts entire, narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, semiamplexicaul, exceeding the fruiting pedicels. Flowers purple with white or yellow markings. Capsule very narrowly elliptic to very narrowly obovate to almost linear, 6-11 x 1-2 mm. Fl. 4. Scrub, etc., c.1000 m.
