Lower leaves with 9-14 elliptic-ovate leaflets, glabrous or pilose beneath, sometimes subglaucous. Flowers small, c. 10 cm across. Petals red. Carpels 1-2, glabrous, attenuate at the apex, the style and stigma c. 7 mm, curved only at the apex. FI. 4.
