Stems much branched. Leaves ± distant on the main stems, adpressed and 4-ranked on the branches, decurrent, glaucous. Cones solitary, sessile on the tips of the branches. Spores ripe 7-8. Slopes, ridges, and in turf, 1800-2300 m.
Arctic and mountains of the N. Temperate area.
