Cushion-forming dwarf shrub, with procumbent primary branches. Flowering stems 1-3 cm, puberulent to hirsute, rarely glabrous. Leaves 4-7 x 0.5-0.7 mm, linear, velutinous-puberulent, rarely glabrous; oil dots absent or sparse, yellow; margins strongly revolute, ciliate to above middle. Bracts 0.8-2 mm wide, ± similar to leaves, lateral veins hardly visible. Bracteoles to 5-6.5 mm. lnflorescence a small few-flowered head. Calyx 3.5-4.5 mm, lips ± equal;upper teeth 0.7-1 mm, mostly ciliate. Corolla purple, slightly exceeding calyx. Fl. 6-8. Open rocky and gravelly ground, s.l.-2800 m.
