Close to S. euphratica, especially var. leiocalycina, but differing by densely sericeous, narrower oblong leaves attenuate at base, lax inflorescence and entire upper lip of calyx. Fl. 6. Slopes in Pinus woods, 800-1000 m.
Endemic. E. Medit. element. Known only from the type gathering, but apparently meriting specific rank within the S. euphratica species-group; geographically isolated.
