Herb 15-30 cm, ± shrubby at base, eglandular. Leaves with minute subadpressed stellate hairs, ± greenish above, whitish- or yellowish-tomentose beneath, basal and cauline leaves cordate to broadly triangular-cordate, obtuse, 1.5-6 x 14 cm, crenulate, petiolate, with petioles to 2.5 cm. Floral leaves shortly petiolate, cordate at base, about as long asverticillasters. Verticillasters 1-4, distant, 3-6-flowered. Bracteoles few, linear-subulate, 2-3 mm, with stellate hairs. Calyx 10-15 mm, stellate-tomentose with spreading hairs, teeth lanceolate-acuminate, 2-3 mm. Corolla yellow, 25-32 mm. Nutlets glabrous. Fl. 4-6. Pinus forest, limestone scree, 500-1420 m.
