Subsp heldreichianus: Dombayotu; Subsp orientalis: Kısa dombay
Stems 50-120 cm, rigid or sometimes arcuate, with 3-6 basal leaves. Inflorescence many-flowered. Basal bracts well developed. Perianth segments light brown, subequal; outer obtuse, mucronate; inner with broad scarious apical auricles. Stamens shorter than perianth; anthers 1.4-2.2 mm, several times longer than filaments. Capsule spheroidal to ovoid, 3-4 mm. Seeds 40-70 per capsule, 1-2 mm, appendages equal.
