Corm tunic membranous, splitting into parallel or weakly reticulated fibres. Leaves 3-6, synanthous, 0.5-1.5 mm broad. Prophyll absent. Bracteole present, subequal to bract. Throat of perianth yellow, glabrous; segments 2-3 x 0.7-1.1 cm, yellow or orange. Filaments 2-3 mm, yellow, glabrous; anthers 0.8-1.2 cm, pale yellow. Style dividing into 3 deep orange clavate branches. 2n = 16. Fl. 4-5. Open hillsides, open Pinus woods, 1200-2000 m.
