Corm tunic finely reticulate-fibrous, especially towards apex, extended into a neck 1-3.2 cm long. Leaves 4-10. very shortly developed at flowering time or hysteranthous , 1-2 mm wide, grey-green. Prophyll present. Bracteole present-smaller than bract. Throat of perianth violet or white. pubescent; segments 19-3 x 0.7--1.5, the inner slightly shorter and narrower than the outer, ovate to obovate, obtuse to slightly acuminate, white or very pale lilac-blue. Filaments 3-4 mm long, white; anthers 10-12 mm long, yellow. Style divided into 3 orange-red branches, each branch 7-10 mm long, less than half as long as the perianth segments, usually exceeding but sometimes equalling or slightly shorter than the anthers. Fl. 10-11Exposed stony areas. 400-1100 m.
