Corm tunic membranous, splitting at base into parallel fibres. Leaves 3-6, synanthous, 1-2.5 mm broad. Prophyll absent. Bracteole present. Throat of perianth pale yellow or whitish, glabrous; segments 2-3.5 x 0.8-1.6 cm, obtuse or rounded, usually deep blue with darker veins, often darker towards base, occasionally whitish in lower half of segments. Filaments 4 mm, white or pale yellow, glabrous; anthers 1-1.4 cm, yellow. Style dividing into 3 deep reddish-orange or yellow-orange branches, each branch usually shallowly lobed. 2n = 22. Fl. 4-5. Grassy hillsides, 2000-2500 m.
