Softly shaggy perennial, 15-40 cm; rhizome horizontal. Stems bearing long patent eglandular hairs mixed with short, often glandular hairs. Lower leaves palmatifid to ½ or 2/3 , 5-12 cm, prominently nerved below; segments broadly cuneate-obovate, shortly 2-3-fid into obtuse, crenate-dentate lobes. Longest bracts 6-10 mm. Pedicels glandular-pubescent and long-pilose. Sepals 8-10 mm, long-pilose, glandular-pubescent and shortly puberulent; awn 3-4 mm. Petals obovate, retuse or emarginate, 13-18 mm, blue. Mericarps puberulent and pilose. Fl. 6-7. Picea forest, Corylus scrub, 1800-1900 m.
