Similar to E. microsphaera, but shorter , and differing in usually simple stem, rather shorter, broader more elliptic cauline leaves, and larger fruits having few to several filiform or subulate processes. Fl. 4-7. Rocky limestone slopes and flats, terra rossa, Quercus scrub, macchie, fallow fields, roadsides, s.l. -1100 m.
