Densely villous much-branched annual to 60 cm. Leaves ovate to elliptic-ovate, 1-3 x 0.5-1.5 cm, obtuse, spinulose-denticulate, rounded at base; petiole 3-8 mm. Stipules minute. Rays 3. Glands stipitate, pectinate. Fruit 5 mm diam., smooth. Seeds quadrangular, truncate, 3.5-4 mm, shallowly pustulate, greyish-brown; caruncle patelliform. Fl. 6-8. Roadsides, steppe, cultivated fields, 290-1400 m.
