Corm oblong-ovoid, 15-35 x 10-20 mm; outer tunics black or blackish-brown, coriaceous; innermost tunic dark brown with a short neck to 2 cm. Leaves 3, linear to linear-lanceolate, 1-4 x 0.2-0.6 cm at anthesis, to 17 x 0.4-0,8 cm at maturity, acute, green, glabrous. Flowers 1-2, white to purplish-pink. Limb of perianth segments oblanceolate to narrowly oblanceolate, 20-26 x 6-8 mm, base usually auriculate. Filaments 1.5-4 mm; anthers black, purplish-black, greenish-black or olive-brown, occasionally yellow, 2-3 x 1 mm; pollen yellow. Capsule ellipsoid to ovoid, 15-30 mm. Fl. 4-6.
