Caespitose perennial. Stems erect, c. 30 cm, glabrous. Lower leaves triquetrous, rigid, c. 25-30 x 1 mm, sparsely puberulent, very spiny. Inflorescence raceme-like, many-flowered. Calyx 10-12,5 mm, glabrous, strongly 10-nerved. Petals whitish, deeply bipartite. Anthophore 4-6 mm, puberulous. Immature capsule oblong-ovoid, c. 5-6 mm. FI. 5. Macchie, ascending to 1250 m.
Endemic and morphologically isolated. E. Medit. element.
