Erect biennial with simple or little-branched stems, 25-70 cm, with long glandular hairs covering the stem and inflorescence, sometimes glabrous below. Basal leaves spathulate; cauline leaves ovate-elliptic, acute, shortly petiolate, up to 7 x 3,5 cm, glabrous or ciliate at margin. Inflorescence compact, corymbose-paniculate. Pedicels c. 1 mm. Calyx narrow, oblong-cylindrical, 18-25 mm with lanceolate-acuminate teeth 2-3 mm. Petals linear, bifid, 20-27 mm, dark pink or purple, with two subulate scales at base of lamina. Capsule subsessile, oblongcylindrical, shorter than the calyx. Fl. 5-7. Rocky slopes and forest, 900-1700 m.
