Mat-forming perennial. Lateral stems and branches procumbent, rooting at their bases, glabrous. Leaves linear-subulate, glabrous or rarely ciliate, mucronate. Flowers solitary, 4-merous . Sepals ± obtuse. Petals white, ½ as long as the sepals or less, rarely absent. Capsule exceeding the persistent, spreading sepals. Fl. 6-7. Waste places, s.l.-2300m.
