Glaucous perennial, c. 40 cm. Leaf sheaths c. 3 x stem diameter immediately below node. Leaves 2,5-3,5 cm x 0,7 mm, linear, flat, narrowed from the base into an acuminate apex. Inflorescence freely branched, flowers often 2-3 together, pedicel often less than 1 cm. Bracteoles 4-6 , ½ calyx length, outer lanceolate or narrowly ovate, aristate, inner ovate, acute, mucronate or apiculate. Calyx 15 x18 mm, cylindrical but narrowed immediately below the teeth; teeth 6-7 mm, lanceolate, apices acuminate or sometimes obtuse, mucronate. Petal limb yellowish, 3 mm, fimbriate, ebarbulate, claw exserted. Fl. 6. Rockfissures, 900 m.
