Shrub or small tree to 6 m. Twigs pubescent. Leaves 2-6 x 1.5-4.5 cm, not more than twice as long as broad, broadly ovate, often strongly oblique, sometimes sub cordate, acute to subacuminate, serrate to serrate-crenate, minutely pubescent beneath, glaucous or glaucous-green but lighter beneath. Teeth broad and short, often scarce. Drupe yellow or orange, 9-12 mm diam. Pedicel short, 0.5-1.5 cm, c. twice as long as petiole. Stone almost smooth with 4 ridges. Fl. 3-4. Open rocky places, 300-1500 m.
