Perennial herb, woody at the base. Stems erect, up to 80 cm. Leaves oblanceolate, subentire, canescent with an indumentum containing glandular hairs. Sepals 9-15 mm. Petals mauve or violet, 20-25 mm. Siliquae compressed, somewhat torulose, up to 15 cm long. Stigma hornless, or with short, inconspicuous horns.
Coasts of S. & W. Europe, Cyprus, Arabia, Egypt.
