Stem 12-20 cm, simple or branched, hispid-villous. Leaves oblong-elliptic, 17-34 x 5-10 mm, obtuse, sessile, sparsely strigose. Inflorescence corymbose. Calyx adpressed-hairy, persistent in fruit. Corolla white, 8-10 mm, tube adpressedhairy outside, lobes ovate-oblong. Stamens inserted c. 3 mm from base of corolla tube; filaments very short. Fruit ellipsoid to depressed-spherical, dry and corky at maturity, coarsely adpressed-hairy, 4-seeded. Fl. 6-8. Sandy beaches, s.l.
