Erect, softly tomentose annual, 10-30 cm. Leaves narrowly ovate, patent-hairy. Inflorescence sparingly branched, with very small bracts. Flowers subsessile; fruiting pedicels accrescent to 3-5 mm, suberect or the lowest recurved. Calyx lobes c. 2 mm, not much accrescent in fruit, lanceolate, erecto-patent. Corolla minute, tube 1.5 mm, limb c. 1 mm diam., saucer-shaped. Nutlets ovoid-pyriform, 2·2-2·5 mm, gibbous beneath; disc densely tuberculate-verrucose, enclosed by indistinct marginal rim lacking true glochids but with short truncate spines with rudimentary spinules at apex. Style distinctly exserted from between tips of nutlets. FI.5. Rocky igneous ravines, c. 1500 m.
