Plant densely white-felted, eglandular. Flowering stems unbranched, 2-16 cm, ascending from a branching caudex. Basal leaves oblanceolate-spathulate, 1-2 cm; cauline leaves linear. Capitula hemispherical, 8-12 mm, borne 1-6 in loose corymbs. Phyllaries obtuse, loosely imbricate, yellow. Flowers all hermaphrodite. Fl. 5-10. Screes, rockyslopes, 1300-2900 m.
Endemic. Close to H. pallasii.
