Height 10-35 cm. Leaves woolly-pubescent, often glabrescent, cauline linear, ± of equal length, uppermost reaching corymbs, median cauline leaves 1.5-4 x 0.1-0.3 cm, pinnatisect, segments imbricate or somewhat distant, c. 1 mm, 3-partite, lobes orbicular to broadly cuneate, denticulate. Capitula 5-40, corymbs 1.5-5.5 cm broad, peduncles 1-4 mm. Involucre broadly ovoid to hemi-spherical, 2.5-5 mm long and broad. Phyllaries lanceolate to oblong, obtuse or subacute, with narrow pellucid margins, adpressed tomentose. Ligules 3-5, bright yellow, 1-1.5 mm; disc flowers 15-25. Fl. 5-7. Steppe, fields, 500-2200 m.
