Similar to Asplenium but with the fronds only pinnatifid, densely covered with rust-coloured scales below, and indusium rudimentary or absent. Rhizome short, erect. Fronds tufted, persistent, 8-20 em, pinnatifid; petiole less than ½ the length of laminae; pinnae oblong, broader at base, apex rounded, entire or crenate. Sori linear, indusium absent. Spores ripe 4. Dry walls, limestone & metamorphic rocks, 10-1300 m.
