Bulb ovoid, to 2.5 x 2 cm, tunics fuscous-violet. Leaves 2-4, synanthous or appearing before flowers , broadly linear, 15-34 cm x 9-14 mm. Scapes 2-3, to 36 cm, stout. Raceme 1-5-flowered, lax. Pedicels suberect, 5-21 mm, shorter than perianth segments at anthesis. Bracts.bifid, 1-2.5 mm. Perianth segments pale blue with darker midrib, 12-17 x2-4.5 mm. Filaments filiform, 7-10.5 mm. Ovary globose. Style 7.5-10.5 mm. Capsule subglobose. Seeds subglobose, c. 2 mm diam., exarillate. Fl. 3. Rocky places.
