Dioecious. Stems simple, suberect, 35-50 cm. Cladodes coriaceous, narrowly to broadly elliptic, broadly acuminate, 6-10 x 2-2.5 cm, narrowed and twisted at base. Inflorescence bract adaxial, lanceolate, 11-30 x 5-10 mm, 7-15-veined, edges at base adnate to cladode for less than 1/6 of their length. Staminal column in male flowers 3-3.5 x 1 mm, in female flowers 2.5 x c. 1.25 mm. Fl. 3-5. Mixed forest, scrub, ravines, rocky places, 20-1000 m.
