Rhizome creeping. Stems 60 cm or more tall, simple. Leaves cordate-triangular, 4-10 x 3-11 cm, obtuse, glabrous, auricles rounded; petiole 1-5 cm, Peduncles much shorter than petioles. Perianth 1.5-3 cm, glabrous outside; utricle globose; tube ± straight, 1-2 mm broad, pale yellow to pale greenish yellow outside; limb as long as or shorter than tube, ovate-lanceolate, brownish or with brown veins inside. Ovary glabrous. Capsule obovoid to pyriform, to 3 x 2.5 cm. FL 4-8. Shady places in valleys, waste ground, among dunes on seashore and fields, sl.-1250 m.
