Bulb very large, 5-5.5 x 3.5-4.5 cm, deeply sunk, tapered to along neck 12-15 cm. Leaves appearing before anthesis, lorate, 28-40 cm x 10-24 mm, glaucous, obtuse. Scape 12.5-35 cm or more, compressed, stout. Umbel 3-10-flowered. Spathe 35-90 mm, broadly lanceolate, abruptly narrowing into a long beak, scarious. Pedicels 5-13 mm, shorter than ovary. Flowers white, very sweetly scented. Hypanthial tube very slender, 35-90 mm. Perianth segments linear-lanceolate, erecto-patent to patent, 55-85 x 3.5-8.5 mm, acute. Corona 25-50 mm, margin with 12 triangular teeth. Anthers 4.5-6 mm. Capsule 23-30 x 18-28 mm. Fl. 6-10. Sandy beaches, dunes, s.l.-5 m.
