Very similar to A. hortensis but leaves triangular to hastate-cordate, entire or sinuate-dentate to lobed-dentate, acuminate, the upper simply hastate, densely white-lepidote beneath, nearly glabrous above. Inflorescence a lax loose panicle. Fl. 5-7. In steppe, as a weed of cultivation, 800-1900 m.
